FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SR-22 INSURANCE
Q. What is an SR-22? How does an SR22 insurance filing work?
A. An SR22 filing is a Financial Responsibility Form that is part of an auto insurance policy. It proves to the state that you have auto liability insurance. The issuing insurance company notifies the DMV that an SR22 has been filed on your behalf. As long as the policy stays in force, your license will remain valid. Should the policy cancel for any reason, then the issuing company notifies the state, and then your driver's license will again be suspended.
Q. I'm busy. Can I take care of this over the phone or by e-mail?
A. Yes. We can give you a quick quote and then complete your application and issue your NEVADA SR22 FILING in 15-20 minutes by phone or e-mail. We accept credit/debit cards or E-check for payment. We will then fax or email to you all the paperwork for your signature.
Q. Can I use a “Non-Owner” SR22 insurance policy if I own a car and already have insurance?
Yes. If you do own a vehicle(s), you can still use the NON-OWNER policy to reinstate your driver's license. The NON-OWNER policy would stay in force for the three year duration that the state of Nevada requires, and then you would simply cancel the NON OWNER policy and continue with your current coverage. The term NON-OWNER policy refers to the fact that you are not insuring your vehicle on it.
Q. What if I no longer live in Nevada and the SR22 is still required?
A. We can help you with that. In this case we would usually issue you a NON OWNER SR22 policy for the State of NEVADA. We can take care of the entire process by phone or e-mail to quotes@NevadaSR22Insurance.com.
